Abhivyakti produce and create alternative media and forms of expressions ranging from electronic audio-visuals to low cost media, as to represent a pro-people perspective on development and social reality. It strives to produce people-centred media in an effort to bring people’s issue to the fore.

Video Production


Abhivyakti has produced eight video magazines called Satyachitra of 40 minutes duration in the local language Marathi, as well as English. Some of the issues covered are  Water as a resource, Tribal malnutrition, Genetically engineered food, Narmada Bachao agitation, etc.  Quarterly video Satyachitra'(True Stories)
 
 

	News Video is an attempt to circulate pro-people images and stories immediately to the concerned audience. We have just begun, and our first initiative is on the  ‘Satyagraha’ organised by NBA at Domkhedi on the banks of the river  Narmada. Its about 22 minutes. It was followed by a news video on Bhoo Adhikar Satyagraha Padyatra held in Madhya Pradesh. The recent news video is on Bhooj Earthquake it is about 25 minutes.

Womens Kit We have produced a media kit in 1996 which addressed a few issues confronting women today It included a combination of media material to be used by the developmental actors as a means to initiate dialogue and participation as a step towards strengthening critical consciousness among the audience. It included :
1. Slide show entitled 'Invisible Labour' - depicted the productive work put in by rural women both in the household and outside, which is never given its due, and the reasons for this plight.
2. Photo Exhibition entitled 'Sumukhi' on the girlchild.
3. Audio cassette of songs entitled 'Sa Re Ga Ma' on gender discrimination during the growing up period, in Marathi.
4. Booklet of songs 'Sa Re Ga Ma', in Marathi.
5. Booklet on reproductive health entitled 'My body, my mind'.
6. Booklet of songs for tribal women in Marathi. The response from the developmental actors in using the media kit has been positive.

Audio Production

Abhivyakti has launched audio cassettes of on social themes like literacy gender roles and forest. All the cassetes are in marathi and are available. some of the message or moral for the children.

Production of low-cost material like Puppets, Flannel stories and Posters  on different social issues. A puppet show on domestic violence and the plight of women (with a booklet) in Marathi and English.
