Communication Skills
(5th - 9th June 2001)
The need for effective communication in the voluntary sector cannot
be overemphasised. Effective communication helps build healthy relationships
with oneself and others. Effective communication is one of the major contributing
factors in achieving our goals in building a collective process for social
transformation. This workshop is designed for NGO functions to enhance
their personal and interpersonal effectiveness.
Workshop would facilitate....
* exploration of one's communication style with oneself and
others.
* appreciation of the importance of communication in relationship
building.
* the understanding and application of the various models of
human
communication viz. Classical Model of Communication, Johari
Window,
Transactional Analysis and Rational Emotive Approach.
* learning specific skills of interpersonal communication.
Methodology of the workshop is participatory and experiential. Lectures,
group discussion, simulations and video exercise would be employed for
effective learning. The total number of participants is restricted
to 20. Limited scholarships are offered to deserving participants.
