think schools and more education are necessary and if you believe they
are part of the problem, then what do you propose? What’s your solution?
Time and again,
this question has been raised while discussing and analysing the destructive
nature of schooling and process of educational thought control.
Understanding
the above factors and culture of schooling led into Liberating School Project.
Liberating School Project is an attempt to validate and emphasise learning
space, which is loosing its importance. It is an innovative project to
be initiated in 8 villages in and around Nashik.
Liberating
school means acknowledging, validating and enhancing knowledge and learning
beyond school walls and making school a part of the authentic learning
environment of the children and communities. In order to achieve this focus
should be given on learning and learning conditions in and out of the village.
The basic focus
will be on the interest based learning, intrinsic motivation, multiple
learning opportunity, redefined resources, diverse relationship, self organisation
process etc. which are considered to be foundation of learning. These foundation
factors will not only offer a concrete challenge to those ascribed in main
stream schooling and development but they will also illustrate how one
can grow through their own learning process.. |
